Availability and pricing information

The browser practice tool does not request payment, a deposit or a brokerage connection. Its virtual starting cash is not redeemable. No paid market-data service is enabled in this release, and no subscription price for future services is promised here.

The catalog contains 215 instruments: 95 stocks, 60 ETFs, 20 mutual funds, 20 cryptocurrencies and 20 fictional individual bonds. Real names and symbols identify examples; prices remain simulated. The individual bonds use clearly marked DEMO identifiers rather than invented real-security identifiers.

One simulated source for every view

Starting prices are fictional catalog values. A deterministic function of instrument ID, practice day and scenario produces each displayed price. Search results, details, previews, executions, holdings and current valuations use that same price source. Refreshing does not advance the practice day.

A scenario applies an illustrative valuation shock; it is not a forecast. Mutual funds use one fictional daily NAV. Instrument history shows the selected scenario’s fictional path, while portfolio history records your actual sequence of simulation steps. Historical execution prices never change when you advance a day or apply a scenario.

Trading and calculation conventions

Orders fill immediately at the displayed simulated price after confirmation. No partial fills, leverage, short selling, real settlement, fees, taxes, dividends, fund distributions, accrued bond interest or maturity redemption are modeled. Quantities support up to six decimals, except whole individual bonds. Each order must be worth at least one cent.

Cash and costs are recorded in integer cents. Holdings use average cost: a partial sale removes a proportional share of cost basis. Realized gain is sale proceeds minus the cost removed; unrealized gain is current holding value minus remaining cost. Total value equals cash plus holdings. Total change is total value minus starting cash, and includes realized and unrealized gains. Allocation uses current simulated values, including cash. Cent rounding can affect very small fractional trades.

Persistence and backups

Each browser can keep up to 20 named portfolios. Create, duplicate and reset affect the selected portfolio; reset asks for confirmation. Export saves all portfolios and their execution histories to a file. Import adds validated copies without replacing existing portfolios. Original classroom-demo exports can also be imported.

Storage is local to this browser and device, not a signed-in account or cloud backup. Clearing browser data, private browsing or storage limits can remove or prevent persistence. If saved data fails validation, the app leaves it untouched and uses a temporary session. Existing unexported work from the older, memory-only demo cannot be recovered after that page closes.

Market data and privacy

No connected market-data provider was found in this application. Market-data mode is unavailable. A future provider must supply source, quote time, currency and real-time or delayed status. A portfolio must not silently switch pricing modes, and missing market quotes must not be replaced with fictional prices.

Portfolio quantities, notes, holdings and values stay in browser storage unless you export or explicitly include them in a message. Optional usage measurement is off by default. If enabled, it emits only coarse actions such as starting a portfolio or completing a first simulated trade; no provider is connected in this release. Hosting access logs may still be managed by the hosting service.
